Senior Data Governance & OpenMetadata Architect – AI Context Layer

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance & Metadata Architect to modernize enterprise data governance and build an AI-ready semantic metadata and context layer.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with OpenMetadata and/or Collate, semantic modeling, ontologies, business glossaries, data contracts, data quality, and modern data governance architecture.

This role will play a key part in creating a trusted semantic metadata graph/context layer that enables enterprise AI agents and AI-driven use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement enterprise metadata and governance solutions using OpenMetadata / Collate.
• Design semantic models, ontologies, business glossaries, taxonomies, and metadata relationships.
• Build an enterprise semantic metadata graph / AI context layer to support AI agents and GenAI use cases.
• Define and implement Data Contracts at source, publish, and data-product levels.
• Establish automated data quality controls, validation rules, lineage, ownership, and governance policies.
• Integrate OpenMetadata/Collate with enterprise data platforms and governance tools such as Collibra.
• Define data products, ownership, stewardship, RACI, governance standards, and operating models.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Architecture, Governance, AI/ML, and business teams.
• Develop scalable governance architecture, solution guardrails, standards, and best practices.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with OpenMetadata and/or Collate (getcollate.io).
• Strong Data Governance & Metadata Architecture experience.
• Expertise in semantic modeling / semantic layers.
• Experience designing ontologies, business glossaries, taxonomies, and metadata models.
• Strong understanding of knowledge graphs / semantic metadata graphs.
• Proven experience implementing Data Contracts.
• Strong experience with Data Quality frameworks and automation.
• Experience with data lineage, metadata management, stewardship, ownership, and data products.
• Understanding of how metadata and semantic context can support Enterprise AI / AI Agents / GenAI use cases.
• Strong data engineering and enterprise data architecture fundamentals.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Collibra or similar enterprise governance platforms.
• Experience integrating governance platforms with cloud data ecosystems.
• Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Products, Knowledge Graphs, and AI-ready data architectures.
• Experience defining enterprise governance operating models and RACI frameworks.
