Job Title: Dev/Research Engineer Location: Mossville, IL Zip Code: 61552 Duration: 12 Months Pay Rate: $41.67/hr.

Job Summary: This position supports the work group by validating drivetrain systems, turning test data into engineering insight, and identifying product risks that influence design decisions and support NPI/CPI execution. Its work directly improves drivetrain performance, durability, reliability, quality, and delivery against program cost and schedule commitments. A typical day involves coordinating with design, controls, and lab teams to plan validation work, execute drivetrain tests, review data, troubleshoot issues, and document results.

The role balances hands-on test activity with engineering analysis, cross-functional communication, and follow-up actions that support NPI/CPI programs and product quality Responsibilities: o Partner with design, controls, and cross-functional teams to define validation requirements and influence design decisions. o Plan, prepare, and execute drivetrain component and system validation testing. o Prepare and instrument test units, including test setups and data acquisition needs. o Analyze complex test data, compare results to requirements, and identify performance gaps. o Apply system-level thinking to evaluate component interactions and tradeoffs. o Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues during testing. o Perform inspections, failure analysis, and support structured root cause investigations. o Support NPI/CPI build events, validation activities, and issue resolution. o Document test procedures, results, and conclusions in clear technical reports.

Education & Experience Required

  • Years of experience: 2-4 years - Degree requirement: Mechanical engineering degree aligns best with the role; open for Masters Degree but the years of experience should still be 2 years; No Associate Degree Belcan is an equal opportunity employer.
