Product Owner - Life Insurance Platform

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce's client in NYC is seeking an experienced Product Owner to support large-scale Life & Annuity insurance transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who understands both insurance operations and technology and enjoys working between business stakeholders and development teams. You will help translate business needs into clear requirements, guide platform implementations, and support the modernization of core insurance systems. The ideal candidate has experience working with Life & Annuity policy administration platforms and can partner closely with business users, architects, developers, testing teams, and project leadership to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and define business requirements
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories
• Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Lead workshops, requirements sessions, and process discussions
• Support future-state process design and platform transformation efforts
• Partner with development teams to clarify requirements and drive successful delivery
• Help evaluate platform capabilities, configuration options, and business impacts
• Support implementation, integration, testing, and release activities
• Work across multiple insurance functions and business workstreams

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience within the Life Insurance and Annuities industry
• Experience supporting business transformation or technology modernization initiatives
• Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work directly with both business users and technical teams
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Experience on either the carrier side or consulting side of insurance projects
• Experience with platform implementations, upgrades, or modernization initiatives
• Experience supporting integrations, APIs, data migration, or testing activities

Strong understanding of Life & Annuity operations, including areas such as:

• New Business
• Underwriting
• Policy Administration
• Billing
• Customer Servicing
• Claims

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Life & Annuity policy administration systems such as:

• FAST (Verisk)
• ALIP
• OIPA
• DXC wmA/CyberLife
• EXL LifePro
• Similar modern policy administration platforms

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
