IAM Support Engineer

IAM Support Engineer - 3 months Contract - £450/day via umbrella company - onsite Manchester/Inverness - SCC FLEX CONTRACT

We are seeking an IAM Support Engineer to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, supporting the delivery and operation of critical identity services across the organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring that the right users, applications, and systems have appropriate access to business resources through secure and effective identity management practices.

Working within a cloud-first IAM environment, you will provide support and administration across Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Active Directory integrations, and identity governance services, helping to maintain secure authentication, authorisation, and access management processes. The role requires a strong understanding of cloud identity technologies, user life cycle management, and access governance, alongside a proactive approach to service improvement and operational support.

Your responsibilities as an IAM Support Engineer:

• Support and administer Microsoft Entra ID services, including RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Active Directory synchronisation.
• Manage and support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), Conditional Access, and related security controls.
• Administer Entra ID users, groups, and dynamic group memberships.
• Support the management of Enterprise Applications, Service Principals, and Managed Identities within Entra ID.
• Assist with Identity Governance activities, including Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) processes and life cycle management workflows.
• Provide support for Okta SSO integrations and application onboarding activities.
• Troubleshoot identity, authentication, access, and provisioning issues across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Support Active Directory integration and synchronisation processes with cloud identity platforms.
• Assist with governance, auditing, compliance, and access review activities.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and IAM teams to improve identity services and resolve operational issues.

As a suitable IAM Support Engineer, you will have:

• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration and support.
• Experience supporting RBAC, PIM, MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access technologies.
• Knowledge of identity life cycle management, including Joiner, Mover, Leaver processes.
• Experience administering Entra ID users, groups, dynamic groups, enterprise applications, and service principals.
• Hands-on experience with Okta administration and SSO integrations.
• Experience supporting Active Directory synchronisation and hybrid identity environments.
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation, access governance, and IAM best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting identity, access, and provisioning issues within enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with CrowdStrike integrations within identity and security ecosystems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider IAM team.
• Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), Active Directory administration, and BeyondTrust PAM/PRA solutions.
