The Opportunity

We re looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across our Defence & Justice business, with a particular focus on the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Primes and industry partners.

This is a true new-business role where you'll identify opportunities, build senior relationships and take ownership of the sales process from initial engagement through to contract award.

You'll work closely with North's senior leadership, sales and technical teams to develop innovative solutions around networking, physical security, CCTV, access control, video management, analytics and connected technologies.

The Role
  • Identify, develop and close new business opportunities across Defence & Justice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with MoD, Defence Primes and industry partners.
  • Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through to contract award.
  • Understand customer challenges and develop tailored technology solutions.
  • Lead opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, working with technical and bid teams.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and regular pipeline reporting.
  • Keep up to date with Defence technology, market developments and emerging solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful handover and delivery.
Requirements

We're looking for a commercially driven sales professional with a proven track record selling into Defence, ideally with experience working with the MoD and/or Defence Primes.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven B2B business development/sales experience within Defence.
  • Experience selling to or through Defence Primes and/or Defence industry partners.
  • Existing relationships across high-security Defence customers.
  • Knowledge of the Defence security environment, including JSPs, Security by Design (SbD) and related requirements.
  • A technical background in networking, infrastructure, physical security, safety & security or sensor technologies.
  • Experience with technologies such as CCTV, VMS, access control, cameras, analytics and wider sensor solutions.
  • Experience integrating multiple technologies into a solution.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • The ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proven ability to own opportunities from initial proposition through to close.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with the drive to exceed sales targets.

SC clearance is essential.
