Senior Desktop Support

Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Desktop Support Specialist to support a short-term, one-week Contract assignment in American Fork, Utah. This role focuses on evaluating workstation readiness, standardizing device setups, and improving endpoint compliance across the environment. The ideal candidate brings strong systems administration and desktop support experience, with the ability to work independently while documenting outcomes clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

Review more than 100 workstations to capture device specifications, operating system details, configuration status, domain connectivity, and management enrollment. Establish and apply a consistent workstation standard to promote uniform configuration across the environment. Perform Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades on eligible devices and identify equipment that does not meet upgrade requirements. Connect devices to the corporate domain and verify proper access and alignment with organizational standards.

Configure and assign the appropriate user or device profile for each workstation based on deployment needs. Enroll endpoints into Microsoft Intune and confirm successful management registration. Resolve setup issues and lingering configuration problems discovered during the engagement. Record each device's condition before and after service, including exceptions, unresolved issues, and hardware recommended for replacement. Requirements
5+ years of experience in systems administration, desktop support, or a related IT infrastructure role.

Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Windows domain environments. Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 administration and support. Practical experience enrolling and managing devices through Microsoft Intune. Ability to troubleshoot workstation configuration issues efficiently and accurately. Familiarity with hardware assessment and identifying upgrade eligibility for endpoint devices. Strong documentation skills with the ability to track device status and report exceptions clearly.
