SAP Functional Lead

Location: 100% Remote, preference Deerfield, IL or Loveland CO

Role Overview

We are seeking an SAP Functional Lead to play a critical role in a strategic Fleet Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) transformation initiative. This program is focused on modernizing how the organization manages its rolling stock and fleet assets across North America. The Functional Lead will be instrumental in designing and governing the business processes that connect capital planning, project execution, and asset lifecycle management within a large-scale SAP S/4HANA environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design end-to-end "Acquire-to-Retire" business processes for fleet assets.
  • Define capital planning, appropriation request, and funding approval workflows.
  • Structure and design capital work order and project execution processes.
  • Manage and design the integration between SAP Investment Management (IM), Project Systems (PS), and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
  • Support asset capitalization processes and lifecycle accounting requirements.
  • Drive process alignment between business stakeholders and technical development teams.
  • Support integration requirements across SAP and third-party fleet solutions, including FleetWave, Wheels, and Samsara.
  • Ensure reporting structures support Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) objectives.
Required Qualifications

The ideal consultant will possess deep expertise and an understanding of how SAP Investment Management (IM), SAP Project Systems (PS), and SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) work together in a capital-intensive asset environment. Experience is required in the following core SAP components and concepts:
  • SAP Investment Management (IM)
  • SAP Project Systems (PS)
  • SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • Capital planning and funding processes
  • Asset lifecycle management
  • Integration architecture, preferably with SAP BTP Integration Suite
Project Details

This role is part of a large-scale transformation program to establish SAP as the system of record for the complete lifecycle management of fleet assets. The future-state architecture will integrate fleet operations, capital planning, procurement, maintenance, leasing, and financial management into a consolidated SAP-centered ecosystem. The program is currently in the planning and design stage, and this role will be pivotal in shaping the future-state architecture and translating business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.

Please note that pay rate is not a guarantee of compensation. The final rate will be determined by a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
