Kforce has a client in Foster City, CA that is seeking a Technical Program Manager - Hardware,
Summary:
Our client is looking for a technical program manager to support their hardware development effort. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with our engineering leaders across software, hardware, engineering, and product to help us achieve their strategic and tactical milestones. You will work with engineering teams to develop project schedules, identify milestones, flag risks, estimate budgets, and clearly communicate ongoing progress.

As with any startup they move fast, and many candidates will be asked from time to time to wear many hats. We would love to hear from you if you are up for solving very challenging problems across numerous cross-functional teams, delivering milestones with numerous dependencies and scaling your impact by developing and adopting structured ways of working. Additionally, if you are an expert at herding cats and influencing without formal authority, then this role was made for you! In this role, you will:

• Define tasks, resources, and timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure successful program delivery that meet company's milestones
• Develop a program roadmap to effectively communicate deliverables to the stakeholders, and hold them accountable
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the program schedule
• Set agenda for key decisions to be made at each meeting to eliminate bottlenecks and minimize risks
• Establish standard reports to provide concise and effective communications to key stakeholders on program status, issues/risks, and accomplishments
• Work with engineers and finance teams to define and track resource requirements, including headcount and budget
• Support key decisions, working cross-functionally across engineering, finance, and strategy to reach the right conclusions

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience in HW Program Management or Engineering Management work - managing cross-functional teams on HW/SW integration in the development phase
• Proficient in tools required to manage complex projects (i.e. JIRA, Gantt charts)
• Prior experience working with contract manufacturers (CMs)
• Self-motivated and proactive problem-solver
• An ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience

Bonus Qualifications:

• MS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Directly managed 2+ program development cycles for a System with HW and SW integration involved
• Experience in automotive industry and camera development
• Strong references that highlight your ability to build strong working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across functions and departments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
