• Conduct operational tests on communications circuits and systems to ensure quality, continuity, and maximum efficiency.
• Analyze communication systems to identify problems for resolution by the maintenance support branch.
• Enforce quality control and performance monitoring program requirements to ensure team members execute system checks.
• Operate secure communications equipment to ensure adherence with all security regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Utilizing telecommunications test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) to gather and record data on circuit, system, and network performance.
• Diagnosing telecommunications equipment and circuit malfunctions to minimize operational downtime on communication links.
• Coordinating repair efforts to resolve circuit outages and equipment breakdowns.

OR Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
