Position Title: Business Analyst Junior

Location: Brooklyn, NY/ Hybrid- 3 days onsite

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Job Type: Hybrid- 3 days onsite

Pay Range: $45/hr.- $50/hr.

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Analyst Junior to join our dynamic team supporting GIS and utility digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in business analysis, requirements documentation, workflow/process mapping, and project coordination and a proven ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and support successful delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements across utility and GIS initiatives.
• Support project managers and teams in planning, tracking, and delivering project milestones and timelines.
• Create and maintain user stories, use cases, process documentation, workflow diagrams, and business process maps.
• Facilitate meetings, document status updates, and coordinate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Support digital transformation efforts involving repositories, workflows, mapping systems, and operational tools.
• Assist with backlog management, project tracking, and dashboards in Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
• Coordinate testing activities, manage issue tracking, and provide UAT support and documentation.
• Develop presentations, reports, SOPs, and training materials for business and leadership audiences.
• Create diagrams and technical documentation using Visio or similar tools.
• Support data migration, validation, and automation initiatives using Python, SQL, or Oracle databases.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining enterprise records and repositories.
• Participate in technology implementation efforts and operational process improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree completed or in progress in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong internship or co-op experience within a utility company environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with clear, professional writing.
• Strong organizational and self-management abilities with demonstrated initiative and accountability.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for backlog and work item management is preferred.
• Must have: ability to document business requirements and translate them into clear technical requirements; administration and testing of Enterprise GIS and database projects; consistent UI design; Figma; Microsoft Office; Visio.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Python, SQL, and Oracle databases, including executing and modifying existing queries.
• Figma for wireframes and consistent UI design standards.
• Workflow and process mapping, QA and UAT coordination.
• Exposure to GIS, ArcGIS, Schneider Electric ArcFM, or enterprise utility applications.
• Azure ecosystem exposure: Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Power BI Report Server.
• Experience supporting digital transformation or operational improvement initiatives.
