Are you an experienced HR professional looking for your next challenge within a thriving manufacturing business? Do you enjoy managing complex employee relations, partnering with leaders, and using data to influence business decisions? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're partnering with a well-established, global manufacturing organisation that has been at the forefront of engineering innovation. With operations spanning the UK, North America, Europe and Asia, the business supplies specialist components into a wide range of highly regulated industries, earning an outstanding reputation for quality, technical expertise and customer service.

Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Senior HR Advisor to join their HR team in Blackburn.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the HR Business Partner, you'll play a key role in delivering proactive, commercially focused HR support across a busy manufacturing site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys operational HR but is also keen to develop the strategic skills required to progress into a future HR Business Partner role.

Working closely with managers across the business, you'll lead on complex employee relations matters, provide expert employment law guidance, analyse HR data to identify trends and support wider people initiatives that drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a broad range of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance management and investigations.
  • Provide expert advice to managers on UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Coach and develop managers to confidently manage people-related issues.
  • Support organisational change projects, restructures and consultation processes.
  • Build trusted relationships across the business with managers and employees.
  • Analyse HR metrics including absence, turnover, engagement and ER trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce meaningful HR reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
  • Support annual HR processes including performance reviews, engagement surveys and policy implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with Payroll, Learning & Development, Recruitment and the wider HR team.
  • Champion a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings both strong HR expertise and a commercial mindset.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor or in a similar HR Generalist position.
  • Strong experience independently managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience using HR data and reporting to support decision making.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Manufacturing, engineering or another operational environment.
  • Supporting organisational change programmes.
  • Experience working within an international organisation.

What's on Offer?

  • £45,000 - £50,000 salary
  • Annual bonus of up to 15%
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Office based initially with some flexibility to hybrid working and working hours when needed
  • The vacancy includes some potential night shifts (Case by Case). On average, once per month with time in lieu due to 24/7 operations.
  • Opportunity to accrue an additional day's leave each quarter through flexi-time
  • Monday-Friday, 37.5-hour working week
  • Genuine career progression towards HR Business Partner
  • Join a stable, growing international manufacturing business with an excellent reputation
  • Collaborative and supportive HR team
