Azure Windows Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer to own our enterprise Windows environment across on-premises VMware and Azure. Windows Server and Active Directory are the core of the role, supported by Azure, VMware and PowerShell automation.

Responsibilities

• Build, upgrade, patch and maintain Windows Server 2016–2025 across VMware and Azure.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy, including DC upgrades and GPO redesign.
• Troubleshoot authentication, DNS and server performance issues as the senior escalation point.
• Support Azure and vSphere infrastructure, including networking, backup and disaster recovery.
• Automate health checks, reporting and configuration with PowerShell.
• Support certificate services and PKI.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience owning enterprise Windows Server and Active Directory environments, including replication, Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and NTFS/share permissions.
• Working experience with Azure infrastructure: VMs, VNets, NSGs, private endpoints, Storage, Backup, Site Recovery, Azure Monitor, Entra ID, hybrid identity and RBAC.
• Familiarity with AWS or another public cloud.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter, including HA/DRS, networking and VM performance.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills with a track record of building automation.
• Ability to isolate whether a problem lies in Windows, virtualization, storage or the network.

Nice to have

• Azure PaaS services such as Function Apps and App Services.
• Containers or infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform).
• Relevant Microsoft, Azure or VMware certifications.
