Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex technology projects for a leading banking client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing large-scale banking/financial services projects, cross-functional teams, technology delivery, stakeholder management, risk management, and project governance.

The candidate should be comfortable working with senior business and technology stakeholders and driving projects from initiation through successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects within a banking/financial services environment.

- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, milestones, and success criteria.

- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, RAID logs, and governance reports.

- Manage multiple workstreams and coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, business, product, infrastructure, security, data, and operations.

- Work closely with business stakeholders, technology leadership, product owners, architects, engineering teams, and vendors.

- Track project progress against agreed timelines, budget, scope, and quality standards.

- Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints and drive timely resolution.

- Establish strong project governance and provide regular status updates to senior management.

- Manage project change requests, scope changes, resource requirements, and delivery dependencies.

- Coordinate release planning, testing, UAT, production deployment, and post-production activities.

- Ensure projects comply with banking security, regulatory, audit, risk, and compliance requirements.

- Manage third-party vendors and offshore/onshore delivery teams where applicable.

- Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure effective collaboration between product and engineering teams.

- Facilitate executive-level meetings, steering committee meetings, project reviews, and stakeholder discussions.

- Monitor KPIs, project metrics, delivery quality, and overall project health.

- Ensure proper project documentation, process adherence, and audit readiness.

- Proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, efficiency, and project outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in project/program management.

- Strong experience working with Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, Payments, Lending, Cards, Risk, or related financial domains.

- Proven experience managing large-scale technology projects from initiation to production.

- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.

- Experience managing distributed onsite/offshore teams.

- Strong stakeholder and executive management experience.

- Excellent understanding of project planning, estimation, resource management, budgeting, risk management, and delivery governance.

- Experience working with engineering teams across technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, APIs, cloud, databases, data platforms, or modern enterprise applications.

- Strong understanding of application development, integration, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture.

- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Azure DevOps, or similar project management tools.

- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced banking environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent certification.
