Job Description

Position: Project Manager / Scrum Master (Long-Term Consulting) - New York, NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite)

Our client, an alternative investment manager, is hiring a Project Manager/Scrum Master on a long-term consulting basis to lead agile delivery for a technology team supporting core business programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agile delivery across several teams: define sprints, keep each team’s tickets organized in the ticketing tool, and make sure every team delivers on its monthly commitments.
  • Run sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives, track velocity and burndown, clear impediments, and coach teams in agile ways of working.
  • Juggle several projects at once, from executive updates and mid-level planning to daily execution, owning plans, milestones, timelines and resourcing for each.
  • Track scope, risk, issues and dependencies, balance competing priorities and scope changes with business and technology leaders, and escalate blockers early.
  • Field new requests from users, pull the right people into meetings, and work with finance, deal and investor relations teams to turn what the business needs into well-defined requirements and deliverables.
  • Shepherd changes through QA and UAT (test plans, defects, business sign-off), then plan go-lives end to end, from cutover and readiness through post-launch support, alongside engineering and DevOps.
  • Coordinate software vendors and third-party providers on implementations and integrations.
  • Keep leadership informed with executive decks and status reports, and maintain diagrams and documentation, including release notes, process flows and requirements.

Requirements

  • A career that began in business analysis and moved into project management or scrum.
  • Hands-on Scrum and Agile experience: setting up and running sprints and leading the ceremonies.
  • 5–15 years of experience, including recent time at a financial services firm.
  • Solid SDLC knowledge, including QA and UAT.
  • Experience leading software go-lives with DevOps or engineering teams.
  • A track record running several projects for one team at the same time.
  • Experience building process and project diagrams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: comfortable with executives and end users alike, and willing to push back on business and technology stakeholders when needed.
  • High energy, proactive and organized.
  • Strongly preferred: private equity, asset management or alternative investments experience.

Long-term consulting assignment. Hybrid. Visa sponsorship is not available.
