APIGEE Architect

Remote

Long Term Contract

 

An Apigee Architect designs, builds, and manages enterprise-level API platforms using Google's Apigee ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Design: Build scalable, secure, and high-performance API architectures using Apigee Edge, X, or Hybrid.
  • API Governance: Set strict rules for proxy design, versioning, traffic management, and security policies.
  • Security Implementation: Enforce strong data protection standards like OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and mutual TLS (mTLS).
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee APIs from creation to deployment, monitoring, and eventual retirement.
  • Team Guidance: Mentor developers and lead integration strategies across different business units.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years in IT with 5+ years of hands-on work specifically on Google Apigee platforms.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of REST APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI (Swagger).
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and CI/CD automation pipelines.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong ability to diagnose production latency, routing errors, and infrastructure issues
