Job Title: Accountant

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $90,000-$120,000

Company Summary: A leading fin-tech is seeking an Accountant to join its Compensation Accounting team. This individual will support the accounting and reporting of compensation-related activities while playing a key role in the month-end close process, financial analysis, account reconciliations, and audit support. Working closely with accounting, finance, and business stakeholders, the Accountant will contribute to financial reporting accuracy, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of compensation-related financial activity
• Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-period results, investigating discrepancies and providing meaningful financial insights
• Assist with financial reporting, audit support, and management reporting while partnering with internal stakeholders to address accounting and business needs

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience within a public accounting, fin-tech or financial services environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred, with advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Lookups, and data analysis capabilities
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
