Senior Solution Architect – Financial Systems

Our client is seeking a Senior Solution Architect – Financial Systems to lead the architecture, integration, and modernization of enterprise finance platforms in a complex, regulated environment. This is a hands-on technical architecture role focused primarily on NetSuite and Coupa, where the ideal candidate will design future-state solutions, evaluate system impacts, oversee integrations, and provide technical direction across financial systems. The role requires strong experience with NetSuite technical architecture, SaaS platforms, APIs, enterprise integrations, and SOX/public company environments, with preference for candidates who have supported ERP consolidation, parent/subsidiary organizations, or large-scale financial transformations. This person will partner with business leaders, IT teams, vendors, and MSPs to drive solution decisions, validate technical deliverables, manage releases, and support the modernization of Roivant's finance technology landscape. NYC hybrid (3 days onsite), CTH position.

This is a Senior Solution Architect – Financial Systems role responsible for leading the architecture, design, integration, and delivery of enterprise finance applications. The person will serve as the technical owner for financial systems, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture standards while supporting business needs in a highly regulated life sciences environment. This is a hands-on architect, not a people manager or project manager.

What the Hiring Manager is Looking For

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of solution architecture experience with deep expertise implementing and integrating enterprise finance SaaS platforms such as NetSuite, Coupa, OneStream, Concur, and FloQast. They should be comfortable designing end-to-end solutions, creating future-state architecture, leading technical design discussions, and making architecture decisions that impact multiple enterprise systems.

A large part of the role involves enterprise integrations. The candidate should have strong experience designing API, cloud-to-cloud, microservices, and file-based (SFTP) integrations using tools such as Celigo, Boomi, or MuleSoft. They should understand data flows, integration architecture, master data management, and be able to evaluate vendor integration requirements before implementation.

The architect will also lead the technical delivery of projects by working with internal teams, managed service providers (MSPs), and software vendors. They will oversee solution design, configuration, testing, deployments, release management, risk assessment, and production support while ensuring compliance with regulations such as SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, and 21 CFR Part 11.

Candidate Profile

• Must have experience in a public-company/SOX-compliant environment, including change control and governance.

• Strong preference for experience in:

• Parent/subsidiary organizations

• Financial consolidation/centralization

• M&A or similarly complex enterprise environments

• Biotech/life sciences experience is not required.

• Retail backgrounds may be less aligned unless the candidate has relevant enterprise complexity and compliance experience.

• Strong presentation skills are helpful but not essential, as the hiring manager will present final recommendations to executive stakeholders.

• The candidate must be comfortable being hands-on, reviewing technical work, and getting into details rather than operating only at a strategic level.

• Candidate sourcing should prioritize:

1. NetSuite expertise

2. Coupa experience

3. Enterprise financial systems architecture

4. SOX/public-company and parent/subsidiary experience

• strong, hands-on technical candidates who may be less senior in title but can grow into the architecture responsibilities.

Beyond delivery, this person will act as the technical advisor to business and IT leadership, helping define future-state architecture, modernization strategies, AI opportunities within finance systems, and best practices for enterprise architecture. Strong communication skills are critical, as they'll regularly present technical recommendations to executives and collaborate across finance, security, infrastructure, and vendor teams.

Key Skills Required

• 10+ years in Solution Architecture/Enterprise Architecture

• Deep expertise with NetSuite, Coupa, OneStream, Concur, FloQast

• Cloud SaaS architecture and enterprise system integrations

• APIs, Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, CI/CD, SFTP

• Architecture documentation, integration design, and technical governance

• Release management, vendor management, and production support

• Experience in regulated industries (Life Sciences/Biotech preferred)

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

The hiring manager is looking for a hands-on Solution Architect who has owned the technical architecture for enterprise financial platforms—not just supported or administered them. This person should be able to design complex integrations, guide technical delivery, evaluate architecture trade-offs, and work directly with business leaders and vendors to modernize the organization's finance technology landscape. They should be equally comfortable discussing APIs and integration patterns with developers as they are presenting architecture recommendations to senior executives.

About the Solution Design & Delivery Team:

The Solution Design & Delivery (SD&D) team within Roivant IT ensures the technical direction of projects and programs aligns with the enterprise architecture vision, supports teams with solution design, and manages technical dependencies across the portfolio. The team owns and develops reference and future-state architecture and ensures strong Enterprise Architecture practices. SD&D supports requirements gathering, design, and technical leadership during enterprise platform implementations and cross-platform integrations. The team also serves as the primary liaison with vendors for post go-live application support and releases.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect for Financial Systems to join the Solution Design & Delivery team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and brings deep expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-based platforms, and cross-platform integration, with deep, hands-on specialization in enterprise finance systems and the integration ecosystem.. The Senior Solution Architect will own and drive the design and delivery of complex solutions across multiple technology areas with limited oversight, independently resolve non-routine technical problems, and serve as a subject matter resource for the broader IT organization. This individual will balance multiple concurrent assignments, mentor junior team members, and provide technical leadership throughout all phases of the system development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Assess the current-state integration landscape across enterprise finance systems and define a future-state integration architecture vision, including governance standards for integration development, security, testing, deployment, and operations

• Own and drive end-to-end solution architecture and design for enterprise platform implementations, ensuring alignment with the reference and future-state architecture vision

• Articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architectures with scalability, supportability, security, and regulatory compliance in mind

• Develop and maintain detailed configuration specifications, integration blueprints, and architecture documentation for assigned systems and platforms

• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of Roivant's objectives and recommend approaches that increase cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and innovation

• Contribute insight, risk assessment, and alternative perspectives on technical and delivery decisions; highlight the implications of technical choices across multiple platforms or areas of IT

• Define the AI strategy for financial systems, identifying where AI-enabled workflows can replace or improve manual and existing automated processes

Delivery & Execution

• Lead internal and external technical resources performing analysis, design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment activities across enterprise applications

• Allocate and manage Managed Service Provider (MSP) work within approved spend, ensuring delivery adheres to defined solution architecture, technical standards, and quality expectations

• Manage end-to-end execution for assigned systems, projects, or complex workstreams with minimal oversight; deliver work to a consistently high and repeatable standard

• Oversee the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly scalable, secure solutions that are optimized for performance and compliant with industry regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, SOX)

• Manage budget, issues, risks, quality, and schedule for technical workstreams and escalate relevant technical risks and issues proactively

• Manage vendor-driven releases end-to-end, including detailed technical assessment of release impact against existing configurations, customizations, integrations, and business processes/workflows; define and oversee unit & system testing; manage through production deployment

• Apply strategic release management practices, batching enhancement and change requests into structured release cycles based on business priority, technical dependencies, and system constraints

• Independently represent IT on cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with business partners and sponsors to translate business requirements into system designs and software solutions

Integration & Platform Management

• Design and implement cloud-to-cloud, API, microservices, and file-based (SFTP/flat file) integrations across enterprise finance platforms using integration tools and technologies (e.g., Celigo, CI/CD pipelines, APIs, Boomi, MuleSoft_

• Evaluate and present multiple viable technical options for vendor data exchange and integration, with documented pros, cons, and architectural trade-offs to inform stakeholder decision-making

• Conduct detailed technical review of vendor-supplied integration and connectivity documentation (e.g., SFTP setup forms, API specifications, security questionnaires) to proactively identify constraints, dependencies, or requirements (e.g., static IP listing) that may conflict with Roivant's technical environment, escalating risks before they become implementation blockers

• Conduct systematic, end-to-end technical impact assessments for proposed system and master data changes (e.g., chart-of-accounts structure changes, new master data values), identifying downstream effects across integrated platforms, master records, and transactions in all non-terminal states before implementation begins

• Serve as the primary technical liaison with vendors for post go-live application support, releases, and enhancements to meet evolving business needs

• Support the L1/L2 support organization to ensure existing systems meet stability, performance, and capacity requirements; develop transition documentation and training materials

• Partner with the Information Security team to ensure all solutions meet required cybersecurity standards and regulatory compliance

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise financial systems, partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders across varying levels of seniority

• Present technical solutions, project status, and recommendations to department leadership and cross-functional teams; translate technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

• Build strong cross-functional relationships and lead meetings with clear structure and purpose

• Collaborate in the creation of strategy within scope for their domain, aligning individual goals to department strategy and contributing to roadmap planning

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to present technical solutions and recommendations to senior leadership

• Experience working with offshore and onshore resources, as well as onsite and remote stakeholders across parent and subsidiary organizations

• Experience with application integration technologies such as GitLab, Python, JSON, APIs, and off-the-shelf integration tools
