Sitting proudly on the Esplanade with scenic views across Exmouth Beach and the English Channel, the Bath House is a fantastic seaside pub with plenty going on throughout the year.

We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager who can lead from the front, manage a busy operation and help the team deliver fantastic experiences — particularly when the pub really comes alive during the summer and major sporting events.

Our sizeable beer garden overlooking the English Channel is a huge part of the experience, while inside we have a two-floor operation, with a first-floor bar and a large dining area giving us plenty of space to welcome our customers.

From pub classics, burgers and sharers to our popular 'Mix it Up' deal, there's something for everyone. And during the summer months, our takeaway offering adds another exciting dimension to the business.

We're also a destination for sports fans, so when the big games are on, the Bath House can get seriously busy. That's where you'll come in.

🚀 What’s the opportunity?

Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in running a busy, high-volume pub and leading the team through some of our biggest trading occasions.

You’ll:

• Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the Bath House.
• Lead from the front and set the standard for brilliant hospitality.
• Manage a two-floor operation, ensuring both the bar and dining areas run smoothly.
• Coach, motivate and develop the team, helping people perform at their best.
• Take ownership of shifts and confidently manage busy periods.
• Plan and deliver large sporting events, ensuring the team is prepared and the customer experience remains exceptional.
• Use your knowledge and passion for sport to help create an atmosphere customers want to return to.
• Drive sales across food, drinks, sport and key seasonal occasions.
• Maximise the summer trade, including the pub's takeaway offering.
• Make the most of the fantastic beer garden and seafront location.
• Build strong relationships with locals, visitors and regular customers.
• Maintain high standards across service, food, drink, cleanliness and safety.
• Support the General Manager with achieving the pub's commercial goals.
• Step up and lead the business in the General Manager's absence.
• Bring energy, ideas and a hands-on approach to every shift.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable being in the thick of it — someone who can keep a cool head when the pub is full, make quick decisions and ensure the team stays focused on delivering great hospitality.

👊 What we’re looking for

We're looking for an Assistant Manager who:

• Has previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader or in a similar hospitality management role.
• Ideally has experience working within a branded pub, restaurant or hospitality business.
• Has experience managing a busy, high-volume operation.
• Has a genuine passion and knowledge of sport and understands what it takes to deliver successful sporting events.
• Is confident managing large crowds and busy trading occasions.
• Has strong people-management and communication skills.
• Can coach, motivate and develop a team.
• Leads by example and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
• Is commercially aware and knows how to maximise sales opportunities.
• Can manage multiple areas of the business and prioritise effectively.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards, even during the busiest shifts.
• Enjoys creating a great atmosphere and memorable customer experiences.
• Is ambitious and wants to develop their career with Greene King.
