Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone interested in starting a career as a Junior Structural Engineer, in civil engineering, construction, and digital design, to join an award-winning structural engineering business, gaining hands on experience whilst working towards a Level 3 Civil Engineering qualification on day release to college.

As Junior Structural Engineer you will be working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you'll help deliver structural engineering projects using industry-leading BIM and CAD software, while developing valuable technical and professional skills.

Within two years, you'll be confidently producing technical drawings, developing Revit models, contributing to project delivery, and making strong progress towards completing your Level 3 qualification

What you'll be doing as a Junior Structural Engineer:

  • Producing technical drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and construction details.
  • Creating and maintaining Revit models for structural engineering projects.
  • Learning how to translate engineering designs and calculations into coordinated drawings and models.
  • Working with engineers, architects, and project teams to identify and resolve design issues.
  • Updating drawings and models as projects develop.
  • Attending project meetings, design reviews, and occasional site visits.
  • Developing your skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other digital design tools.

You will have:

  • Ideally a Level 2 qualification, such as BTEC First in Construction, we can consider you if you have good GCSE's including Maths, English and Science or Technical subjects, and the right aptitude and commitment
  • A strong interest in structural or civil engineering, construction, or digital design.
  • Good communication, IT, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude with drive and determination to learn.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to further develop technical skills.

Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam is very desirable, however, full training will be provided.
