Job Summary

Staff AI Engineer responsible for architecting, building, and deploying production-grade AI systems from 0 1. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on LLMs, agentic AI, RAG, AI architecture, production reliability, and technical mentorship. The ideal candidate can translate ambiguous customer/business problems into scalable AI solutions and drive architecture across products or domains.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience building and deploying AI systems from scratch into production; POCs/integrations alone are not sufficient.
• Strong software engineering and architecture fundamentals; actively hands-on with coding.
• Deep experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, RAG, embeddings, model APIs, and AI application architecture.
• Experience owning architecture decisions, technology selection, scalability, security, reliability, latency, and cost tradeoffs.
• Strong experience with AI evaluation, observability, monitoring, failure handling, and production optimization.
• Customer/product-facing experience translating ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, and influence across engineering teams.
• Strong experience with Python and familiarity with SQL, PostgreSQL, React, C#, iOS, and cloud-based development.
• Milwaukee-area candidates preferred for hybrid 2 3 days/week; Chicagoland candidates able to average ~2 days/week in Milwaukee are also considered.
