Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a Solid Waste Engineering team supporting environmental and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of civil/environmental engineering experience, an active Professional Engineer (PE) license, and experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects. Experience with landfill and solid waste engineering is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering and multidisciplinary projects.

• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, technical reports, and permit applications.

• Support landfill and solid waste facility design, permitting, and operations.

• Develop regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and technical studies.

• Provide engineering review, technical oversight, and quality control.

• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal engineering teams.

• Support stormwater modeling and management planning.

• Participate in hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations.

• Provide construction oversight and operations/maintenance support.

• Develop practical engineering solutions based on project requirements.

• Participate in client meetings and business development activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.

• Experience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in landfill and/or solid waste engineering.

• Experience with landfill design, permitting, operations, or environmental compliance.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS.

• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.

• Experience working directly with regulatory agencies, contractors, and clients.
