Senior Hogan Mainframe Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Software Engineer to support a large-scale financial services technology environment. This is a remote W2 contract opportunity with potential for extension. The role will focus on application enhancements, integrations, reporting initiatives, troubleshooting, and production support activities within a complex enterprise environment.

This position is ideal for an engineer with strong mainframe development experience who enjoys working across integrations, root cause analysis, application enhancements, and enterprise-scale systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement software enhancements and new features.


• Support integration initiatives between core business applications and enterprise platforms.


• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of application and data issues.


• Participate in reporting and data integration efforts.


• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.


• Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, and test strategies.


• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers throughout the SDLC.


• Support application deployments and provide ongoing production support as needed.


• Participate in an on-call support rotation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years of software development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Strong Mainframe development experience.

• Experience supporting complex enterprise applications.


• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.


• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


• Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall development environments.


• Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Hogan applications and related banking or financial services platforms.


• Experience with CIS, IDS, RPM, deposit systems, or similar core processing applications.


• Experience with enterprise integrations and data interfaces.


• Experience with reporting and data analysis solutions.


• Experience supporting highly regulated environments.

Highly Desired Experience

Candidates with experience supporting RPM (Relationship Profitability Management) are strongly preferred.
