Sr Business Analyst

Location: Houston, TX - Local candidates only

Schedule: Hybrid – Mon-Wed in office; Thurs and Fri remote

Contract: Initial 6-month term with strong potential for extensions

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support technology initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This individual will partner with business and technology teams to define requirements, analyze processes, support enterprise initiatives, and ensure accurate communication across stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented, self-directed professional with a strong technical background who can independently lead meetings, document key decisions and action items, and manage multiple priorities. Retail industry experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Lead requirements sessions, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions as needed.
• Document decisions, action items, risks, dependencies, and next steps.
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams.
• Analyze current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership.
• Support solution evaluation, testing, implementation, and business readiness activities.
• Analyze data and prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations to support decision-making.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and follow-through.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and communicate critical information accurately.

Experience

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience required.
• Strong Business Analyst experience within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical background and ability to communicate with both business and technology teams.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Data management and data visualization skills/tools.
• Collaborative team player who can effectively work in a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.
• Self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple priorities and diverse business scenarios.
• Business and consultancy mindset with strong data-driven capabilities.
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven, adaptable, quick to learn, and able to bring a positive, can-do approach.

Preferred

• Project management capabilities preferred.
• Experience working in the retail industry preferred.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise technology initiatives is a plus.
