QA Tester

Job Title: QA Tester

Location: ST Louis, MO (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Arrangements: Hybrid 3 days per week in office.

Team structure

Three teams will receive the BAs: two portals teams (internal or external portals) and one CRM team.

One portals team also works on web systems. The other is focused on a specific portal/work system (PowerClerk was mentioned). The CRM team works on the CRM platform.

Each team has a Scrum Master, three developers, a tech lead, 2-3 testers, and a BA. They’re expected to run agile projects.

Arrangements

Hybrid role onsite 3 days a week. Must have some flexibility in working hours, depending on testing schedule. It doesn't happen often, but they may be working outside core working hours.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Test Planning & Execution

· Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution designs to determine appropriate test coverage.

· Develop and execute detailed manual test cases and test scenarios.

· Perform functional, integration, system, end-to-end, regression, exploratory, and negative testing.

· Validate business rules, application behavior, data flows, and customer journeys.

· Identify and prepare appropriate test data and test conditions.

· Maintain reusable manual regression test suites for assigned products.

· Clearly communicate testing progress, results, risks, and release-readiness concerns.

Defect Management

· Identify, document, and track application defects through resolution.

· Create clear defect documentation, including steps to reproduce, expected versus actual results, and supporting evidence.

· Partner with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and vendors to reproduce and troubleshoot defects.

· Retest resolved defects and perform appropriate regression testing.

· Distinguish application defects from requirements gaps, data issues, configuration issues, and expected system behavior.

End-to-End Digital Testing

· Manually validate complete customer and co-worker journeys across applicable digital channels.

· Test interactions and data flows across multiple applications and system integration points.

· Validate positive, negative, boundary, and exception scenarios rather than testing only the expected "happy path."

· Identify inconsistencies in functionality, business rules, content, navigation, or customer experience.

· Validate that changes to one area of a digital experience do not negatively affect existing functionality.

Agile Product Delivery

· Work as an embedded member of an Agile product team.

· Participate in refinement, planning, demonstrations, and other applicable team activities.

· Review requirements and acceptance criteria early to identify gaps, ambiguity, or scenarios requiring additional clarification.

· Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure requirements are clear and testable.

· Coordinate testing activities with development and release schedules.

· Support production release validation and post-deployment testing.

Required Qualifications

· 3+ years of hands-on manual software testing or QA experience preferred.

· Demonstrated experience creating and executing manual test cases and test scenarios.

· Experience with functional, system, integration, end-to-end, regression, exploratory, and negative testing.

· Experience testing applications against business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

· Experience documenting, tracking, retesting, and closing software defects.

· Experience working within an Agile/Scrum product delivery environment.

· Hands on experience with Zephyr Scale, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify unexpected system behavior and edge cases.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently, manage testing priorities, and clearly communicate quality risks.
