Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master is responsible for leading complex projects while fostering Agile practices within the team. This hybrid role combines traditional project management responsibilities with Scrum Master duties to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Healthcare domain with exclusive experience of Appeals and Grievances is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Define scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
- Manage resources, vendors, and procurement activities.
- Track progress, manage risks, and resolve escalated issues.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular status updates.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee project closure, including documentation and lessons learned.
Scrum Master Duties (Expanded)
- Facilitate all Agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
- Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Remove impediments and shield the team from external distractions.
- Support the Product Owner in backlog grooming and prioritization.
- Track and report Agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, cycle time) to improve predictability.
- Encourage self-organization and accountability within the team.
- Promote effective communication between distributed teams in a remote environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Ensure adherence to Agile frameworks while adapting to organizational needs.
Preferred Domain Experience
- Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, clinical workflows, or payer/provider solutions.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HL7) is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Business, IT, or related field (Master s preferred).
- 7+ years of project management experience; 3+ years in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Certifications: PMP and/or CSM required (SAFe or PMI-ACP is a plus).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence).
