Job Description

Actuarial Reporting Manager

We are partnering with a leading insurance business to appoint a Qualified Actuary into an Actuarial Reporting Manager position within its Finance function.

This is an opportunity for an experienced or recently qualified actuary to take ownership of key reporting deliverables while gaining broader exposure tocapital management, financial reporting and Finance transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders and have the opportunity to contribute to a range of strategic and change-focused initiatives alongside the core reporting responsibilities.

Key responsibilities
  1. Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of actuarial reporting and financial results across Solvency II, UK GAAP and US GAAP.
  2. Lead monthly reporting activities, including analysis of balance sheet and P&L movements and preparation of regulatory outputs.
  3. Provide actuarial insight and challenge to stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.
  4. Translate complex actuarial and financial information into clear, commercially relevant messages for senior audiences.
  5. Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, systems and methodologies.
  6. Support wider Finance change and transformation initiatives, including capital forecasting, model developments and corporate transactions/projects.
  7. Work collaboratively with colleagues across actuarial, finance and other business functions.
  8. Provide coaching and technical support to actuarial trainees and more junior team members.

About you
  1. Qualified Actuary with experience gained within Life, General Insurance or Pensions.
  2. Applications from recently qualified actuaries with relevant reporting experience will also be considered.
  3. Strong understanding of actuarial reporting and financial concepts, with an ability to analyse and interpret results.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  5. Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  6. Advanced Excel capability.
  7. A genuine interest in process improvement, automation and Finance transformation.
  8. Experience using actuarial/reporting platforms such as RAFM or Unify would be beneficial.

The position offers a broad remit beyond traditional actuarial reporting, with exposure to capital, financial management, senior stakeholder engagement and business transformation . It would suit an actuary looking to broaden their commercial exposure while taking greater ownership of reporting and change activity.
