Job Description

Corporate Accountant - Private Equity/VC (Contract)

London | £375-£425 per day via Umbrella | 3-6 months
Hybrid working - 4 days per week in the office

A successful Venture Capital firm is looking for a qualified Corporate Accountant to join its finance team on an initial 3-6 month contract.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for the corporate accounting and financial reporting across a multi-entity investment business. You will also manage one member of the finance team and work closely with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Production and review of consolidated management accounts and financial reporting
  • Budgeting, forecasting and management information
  • Coordination of statutory accounts and year-end audit
  • Oversight of tax, regulatory reporting and other compliance requirements
  • Cash management, treasury and foreign currency exposure
  • Review of payroll, expenses, purchase ledger and intercompany accounting
  • Supporting the CFO with wider finance and business projects

The remit covers a genuinely broad mix of management reporting, statutory accounts, tax, budgeting, team oversight and treasury.

The Candidate

You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with experience working in a similar role within a smaller alternative investment firm.

Experience within Venture Capital, Private Equity, Private Credit or a comparable investment management business is essential, alongside:

  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Experience within a multi-entity environment
  • Previous management or supervisory responsibility
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills and open to using AI tools
  • A hands-on approach and ability to operate effectively within a small finance team

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant or Financial Accountant who enjoys a broad role and wants direct exposure to the CFO within a successful and entrepreneurial investment business.

Candidates must be available to start within the next 2-4 weeks.
