Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer with Security Clearance

Job Description We're seeking a skilled Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer to support the development and deployment of next-generation data management and artificial intelligence platforms supporting mission-critical environments. As a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer, you will work on-site with customers to deploy, configure, integrate, and troubleshoot secure infrastructure within operational environments. This role combines hands-on infrastructure engineering with direct customer engagement and requires strong experience with Linux, containerized environments, automation, DevSecOps, and secure deployments. Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud and platform infrastructure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi or Terraform.
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Deploy and support workloads in AWS cloud and air-gapped environments.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure within customer environments.
• Support RHEL/Linux-based platforms using Kubernetes, Podman, Docker, and Helm.
• Monitor applications and services using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Sentry, and SigNoz.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity compliance controls and policies, including CMMC requirements.
• Manage secrets, configurations, and secure deployment processes.
• Partner directly with customer engineering teams to integrate, test, and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Support deployments, upgrades, and mission execution at customer sites.

Required Skills Required Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Linux system administration.
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Podman and Helm.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines utilizing GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling.
• Proficiency with AWS and/or other cloud service providers.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and cloud networking architectures.
• Experience working with cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as CMMC, PCI, or SOC.
• Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity Providers (IdP) such as Authentik and Keycloak.
• Experience deploying and supporting workloads in air-gapped environments.
• Experience managing and supporting self-hosted infrastructure and bare metal environments.

• Experience supporting classified DoD or government environments.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes clusters in classified or disconnected environments.
• Experience with Podman and rootless container deployments.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud or other secure cloud environments.
• Experience working directly with government or DoD customers in operational environments.
• Experience supporting deployments, integrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
