2nd Line Support Engineer

Are you an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer, IT Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer or IT Technician looking for a varied, hands-on role with exposure to Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, Active Directory, networking and infrastructure?

We are recruiting for a well-established professional services organisation in Newark, Nottinghamshire, seeking a proactive 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join its internal IT team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong 1st and 2nd line support experience who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting users and taking ownership of technical issues from start to finish.

The Role

As a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer, you will provide technical support to users across multiple offices, covering hardware, software, devices, user accounts, connectivity and business applications.

You will also support wider IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 administration and project work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support across multiple sites
• Logging, triaging and resolving IT support tickets
• Supporting users remotely and on site
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity and account issues
• Building, configuring and deploying laptops, desktops, mobiles and peripherals
• Supporting Microsoft 365, Office 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
• Supporting Active Directory and Group Policy
• Assisting with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management and device provisioning
• Supporting Windows Server and Hyper-V environments
• Troubleshooting networking issues including TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, firewalls and Wi-Fi
• Assisting with software deployment, patching, endpoint security and backup checks
• Supporting IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes and office moves
• Maintaining IT documentation, user guides and knowledge base information

Skills and Experience

We would like to hear from candidates with previous experience as a:

You should have experience with some or all of the following:

• Microsoft Intune
• Azure / Microsoft Azure
• Windows Server
• Hyper-V
• TCP/IP
• VLANs
• Firewalls
• Wi-Fi and networking
• Remote support tools
• IT helpdesk / ticketing systems

Experience within professional services, legal, financial services or another multi-site organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.

You will be approachable, organised and confident communicating with users at all levels. You should enjoy problem-solving, taking ownership of IT issues and balancing day-to-day support with wider technical projects.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to travel between sites.
