AI/Data Engineer (Data Reconciliation Utility Development)
Overview
Our team is seeking a highly skilled AI/Data Engineer to support enterprise modernization initiatives through the development of AI-powered data reconciliation solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who combines strong data engineering fundamentals with practical experience leveraging GenAI technologies.
You will help build a reconciliation utility designed to compare legacy and target system data, identify discrepancies, and generate actionable reporting using modern AI-driven approaches.
Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-powered data reconciliation utilities supporting enterprise modernization efforts.
• Compare data across legacy and target platforms to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies.
• Leverage AI techniques, prompt engineering, and pattern recognition to detect complex data mismatches.
• Develop scalable Python-based solutions for reconciliation and reporting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting application delivery.
• Collaborate closely with architects and senior technical leaders on solution implementation.
• Contribute as a hands-on individual contributor within a fast-paced engineering team.
• Support data validation, quality assurance, and modernization initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering or data engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Experience with LangGraph.
• Experience consuming MCP services.
• Experience working with GenAI tools and solutions.
• Prompt Engineering expertise.
• Advanced Python development experience.
• Experience implementing CI/CD practices and pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Capital One experience.
• Experience combining Data Engineering and GenAI engineering.
• Experience building AI-driven data validation, reconciliation, or automation solutions.
• Experience supporting large-scale modernization initiatives.

• Team of approximately 11 engineers.
• Focused on data engineering and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborative environment partnering closely with architects and senior technical contributors.
• Hybrid work model with preference for candidates located near a Capital One campus.

Additional Information

• One-round interview process (60 minutes).
• Strong preference for hands-on builders and engineers rather than people managers or technical leads.
• Java experience is not required; Python expertise is significantly more important.

Spark/Data Engineer (Modernization)
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Spark/Data Engineer to join a modernization-focused engineering team responsible for transforming legacy data platforms into scalable modern solutions.
This role will support migration efforts from existing ETL processes to Spark and Scala-based architectures while helping build and maintain enterprise data pipelines that support critical business initiatives.
Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy ETL processes and data workflows.
• Migrate Ab Initio-based jobs and processes to Spark and Scala solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and comparison activities.
• Support enterprise-wide modernization and transformation projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement migration strategies and best practices.
• Leverage modern tools and automation capabilities to accelerate migration efforts.
• Contribute as a hands-on engineer within a high-performing data engineering team.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
• Strong Apache Spark experience.
• Strong Scala development experience.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines.
• Experience performing data validation and comparison activities.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and business processes.
