Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Serrala Archiving Lead to lead the design, implementation, and deployment of enterprise archiving capabilities within an SAP S/4HANA transformation environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Serrala archiving solutions, SAP data archiving, SAP ILM, ADK, AIS, content repositories, retention management, and data-volume optimization.

This role will collaborate with functional, technical, business, compliance, legal, security, and infrastructure teams to develop and implement an enterprise-wide archiving strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of Serrala archiving capabilities for an SAP S/4HANA transformation program.

  • Develop the enterprise archiving strategy, roadmap, governance model, retention schedule, and operating procedures across ECC and S/4HANA environments.

  • Conduct discovery and solution-design workshops.

  • Identify data-growth drivers, applicable archiving objects, business dependencies, retrieval requirements, and compliance constraints.

  • Configure and validate archiving objects, variants, residence/retention periods, write/delete/store sequences, background jobs, indexes, and archived-data access.

  • Coordinate integration with content repositories and ensure secure and reliable storage and retrieval of archived documents and business data.

  • Partner with functional and technical teams to assess process impacts.

  • Ensure reporting, audit, legal-hold, reconciliation, and business-access requirements are preserved.

  • Manage onsite/offshore delivery, dependencies, risks, issues, status reporting, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination.

  • Provide leadership during cutover and hypercare.

  • Monitor archive jobs, database reduction, system performance, retrieval success, and operational compliance.

  • Establish sustainable monitoring and control processes.

  • Provide knowledge transfer to support teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement of enterprise archiving processes and controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP data archiving, document archiving, and information lifecycle management.

  • Hands-on implementation and solution-design experience with Serrala archiving solutions in SAP S/4HANA.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP archiving objects, ADK, AIS, SAP ILM, retention rules, and data destruction controls.

  • Experience integrating Serrala with SAP Content Server, OpenText, ArchiveLink, or equivalent enterprise content management platforms.

  • Experience with data-volume management, database growth analysis, archiving job scheduling, dependency sequencing, and performance optimization.

  • Experience defining retention policies that address legal, audit, SOX, privacy, and records-management requirements.

  • Knowledge of S/4HANA transformation and conversion scenarios.

  • Experience with legacy data disposition, archived-data access, testing, reconciliation, cutover, and hypercare.

  • Strong ability to collaborate across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Order-to-Cash, Basis, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Legal, and Compliance teams.

1. Serrala Implementation Experience

Describe your hands-on Serrala archiving implementation experience in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA, including your role, project scope, and key deliverables.

How have you identified, configured, and sequenced SAP archiving objects using ADK, AIS, and/or SAP ILM while managing dependencies and archived-data access?

3. Content Repository Integration

Explain your experience integrating Serrala with OpenText, SAP Content Server, ArchiveLink, or another content repository. How did you validate secure storage and retrieval?

4. Archiving & Retention Strategy

How would you define an archiving and retention strategy for a phased S/4HANA transformation involving compliance, legal hold, reporting, reconciliation, and data-volume reduction?

5. Testing, Cutover & Hypercare

Provide an example of leading archiving testing, reconciliation, cutover, and hypercare. What issues arose, and how did you drive resolution and business sign-off?
