Linux/Database Administrator with Security Clearance

The Linux/Database Administrator will work independently under limited supervision, install and maintain Linux-based database servers, manage updates and enhancements, troubleshoot and optimize performance, support end users and developers, manage accounts and privileges, maintain configuration baselines, and research emerging technologies to support future system upgrades. Responsibilities include:

• Managing database backup strategies, restoration procedures, replication, clustering, and failover configurations
• Creating and maintaining documentation, SOPs, and system configuration guides. Requirements
• At least six years of experience administering Linux-based database environments, specifically with Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including security configuration, patching, and compliance updates such as IAVA requirements. This experience should encompass installation, configuration, hardening, and lifecycle maintenance of Linux servers supporting enterprise databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle on Linux, or NoSQL platforms.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration, SELinux configuration, sudo policies, identity management tools such as IdM or NIS, DNS, CIFS/SMB, secure remote access, and automation through Bash, Python, or UNIX shell scripting to support database operations, backups, monitoring, and performance tuning. Effective written and verbal communication is essential.
• Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification, including both an IA certification and a Linux-focused OS certification
• Active Top Secret security clearance The anticipated salary for this position is $130,000 to $165,000.
