Job description

C++ Quant Developer - Rates Algo Trading

Location: London

Compensation: Excellent potential for strong total compensation

I am partnering with a leading global investment bank to hire a C++ Quant Developer for its Front Office Rates Algo Trading team in London.

You'll work alongside quant traders and researchers to develop high-performance trading systems and implement the strategies that drive the business. The role offers opportunities for greenfield development and ownership from initial design through to production.

The opportunity

Joining a global team, you'll contribute to core algo trading strategy and platform development, including:

  • Pricing, market-making, hedging and execution logic.
  • High-performance, low-latency C++ development.
  • Market data processing and order entry/exchange connectivity.
  • Testing, production rollout and performance optimisation.
  • Close collaboration with traders and researchers to translate trading requirements into production code.

What I'm looking for

  • Strong hands-on C++ development skills within electronic trading.
  • Experience working on trading systems with sub-100-microsecond latency.

Experience across at least two of the following:

  • Market data.
  • Core algo trading strategy development, including algorithms or hedging strategies.
  • Order entry and exchange connectivity.
  • The ability to explain technical decisions and work closely with Front Office stakeholders.
  • Ownership of reliable, maintainable production software.

Rates experience is preferred, but candidates from equities, FX and other electronic trading backgrounds are welcome. Python and Java are also used within the team, although C++ is the primary requirement for this position.

Why consider the role?

  • Direct involvement in algo trading strategy development.
  • Opportunities to build new functionality and influence technical decisions.
  • A collaborative global team with London as its largest hub.
  • Excellent potential for strong total compensation, depending on experience and fit.
