Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite & Telework)
 
Position Summary
Senior-level Business Analyst supporting multiple projects for the Texas Education Agency (TEA), focused on system enhancements and application modernization efforts. Responsible for bridging business stakeholders and development teams by gathering, documenting, managing, and validating requirements throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business needs, current processes, pain points, and system capabilities to improve and automate business operations.
  • Gather requirements through interviews, JAD sessions, document analysis, surveys, workflow analysis, use cases, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Translate business needs into business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, use cases, SRS documents, wireframes, and mockups.
  • Create clear, concise, and standardized documentation.
  • Manage requirements throughout the SDLC and support post-implementation enhancements.
  • Facilitate requirement validation and ensure solution alignment with business objectives.
  • Mentor team members and promote business analysis best practices.
  • Use Jira and Modern Requirements to manage change requests, requirement tracking, and project activities.
  • Communicate requirement status and coordinate with stakeholders and development teams.
 
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience gathering requirements through stakeholder interviews and creating system requirements.
  • 8+ years of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
  • 8+ years of business process re-engineering and process improvement experience.
  • 8+ years developing user stories and use cases following BA best practices.
  • 8+ years creating wireframes and mockups aligned with UX best practices.
  • 5+ years of strong communication and facilitation experience.
  • 5+ years of strong documentation, writing, and organizational skills.
  • 4+ years working for or supporting TEA, an education agency (federal/state/local), or an education vendor.
  • 2+ years of experience using Atlassian Jira.
  • 2+ years of experience using Modern Requirements.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Data Lake technology.
