Structural Fitters
New Iberia| $30-35+/hr. DOE | Full-Time
A local industrial company is seeking experienced Structural Fitter. The ideal candidate can read blueprints, fit structural steel and piping accurately, and complete quality welds for industrial projects. Pipe welding a plus too!
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Fit and assemble structural steel and piping components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials for fabrication
  • Perform SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding as needed
  • Install and align piping systems and structural components
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality
  • Operate grinders and other fabrication tools safely
  • Follow all company safety and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
  • Previous structural fitting, pipe fitting, or industrial fabrication experience required
  • Strong fitting experience preferred
  • Blueprint reading experience is a major plus
  • Experience with SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding
  • Must be able to pass required weld and fitting tests 3g/4g
  • Must have steel-toe boots
  • Must provide your own welding hood, leather gloves, tools, and grinders
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work 10-hour shifts
Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday ; 6:00 AM-5:00 PM 10-hour shifts
Pay:
  • Starts at $30-35 per hour, depending on experience
