Senior Observability Engineer - Remote - £350/day

We're looking for an experienced Observability Engineer to join a major technology transformation programme. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and implementing scalable observability solutions across complex technology environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement observability solutions across cloud, SaaS, hosted and on-premises environments

• Develop and improve standards for telemetry, dashboards, alerting and service health

• Work closely with engineering and product teams to embed observability across their services

• Implement and manage metrics, logs, traces and events

• Build dashboards, service health measures and actionable alerting

• Develop reusable automation, templates and configuration-as-code approaches

• Support incident diagnosis, reliability improvement and operational processes

• Provide technical guidance, peer review and mentoring to engineering teams

Key Skills:

• Strong commercial Observability Engineering experience

• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry and/or enterprise observability platforms

• Strong experience with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerting

• Experience with automation, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD and infrastructure/configuration as code

• Experience across cloud, SaaS, hosted and/or on-premises environments

• Strong understanding of reliability, incident diagnosis and service improvement

• Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic, Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics or Azure Monitor is beneficial

• SRE, SLI/SLO, microservices, API or container experience is advantageous
