My client is looking to recruit an Applications Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of bespoke projects, taking ownership from initial customer enquiry through to final delivery and commissioning.
This is a fantastic role for an engineer who enjoys variety and wants to be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
The role as an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering customer-driven engineering projects, ensuring technical requirements are met while maintaining project timescales, budgets and quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing engineering projects from concept and design through to completion.
• Evaluating customer requirements and developing practical technical solutions.
• Producing and maintaining detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
• Creating and managing bills of materials and project costings.
• Supporting compliance and certification activities where required.
• Acting as a technical point of contact for internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of project requirements.
• Participating in testing, validation and commissioning activities.
• Supporting manufacturing teams with technical guidance throughout project delivery.
• Identifying opportunities to improve designs, processes and overall project performance.

About You To be successful in this position, you will be a proactive and technically capable engineer with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
You should ideally possess the following:

• A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an Applications Engineer, Design Engineer or Project Engineer role.
• Strong 3D CAD skills, including the creation of assemblies, components and technical drawings.
• Experience working with mechanical systems and engineered products.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials including metals, plastics and composites.
• A practical approach to engineering challenges with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence working directly with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Desirable experience includes:

• Composite manufacturing and materials knowledge.
• Fluid or electrical system exposure.
• Experience within marine, transportation, industrial equipment or other engineering-led sectors.
