The
Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist will assist in the execution of staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning. This hands-on position is responsible for driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives
.

What You'll Do
As the Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist, you'll partner closely with plant leadership and employees to deliver exceptional HR support while helping create a positive, engaging, and high-performing workplace. Key responsibilities include:
Process and support hourly payroll activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders across the plant. Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee development initiatives. Administer employee benefits programs and answer employee questions.

Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies. Coordinate employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and plant-wide communication initiatives. Assist with performance management, training, and talent development activities. Support employee and labor relations efforts, including working in a unionized environment when applicable. Partner with plant leadership to address workforce needs and drive a positive employee experience.

Maintain a regular presence on the manufacturing floor to build relationships, support employees, and stay connected to plant operations. Assist with HR projects and initiatives that support business objectives and continuous improvement. What Makes You Successful
We're looking for someone who:
Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Has strong payroll knowledge and experience supporting hourly employees. Enjoys interacting with people and building positive working relationships.

Is comfortable handling frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness. Takes a proactive, customer-service-oriented approach to HR. Works collaboratively and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team. Enjoys being active and visible throughout the plant rather than working exclusively from an office.

This position will report directly to the Plant HR Manager
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business or Human Resources is preferred
Must have experience in payroll administration in a fast-paced environment, ideally within manufacturing
Prefer someone with previous Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment with modern HR processes
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP are a plus

What we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between
$70,000 - $80,000 and includes a possible
12% short-term incentive bonus.

Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
