HR Assistant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position supports the Human Resources Department and is responsible administrative tasks in support of the department including recruitment support, event coordination, and miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed.

Summary:
Founded in 1982 by legendary aircraft designer Burt Rutan, Scaled Composites is an aerospace company continually working to push boundaries, prove out ideas, and influence the future. We are a rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, designing, building, and testing proof-of-concept and prototype vehicles.

We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 40-plus year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with recruiting processes (e.g. tracking applicants, scheduling interviews). Managing employee event coordination. Assembling data lists and/or reports and supporting other data related tasks. Answering employee questions and referring to HR Business Partners when needed. Responsible for office cleanliness, office supply inventory, and organization.

Miscellaneous filing, record keeping, and data entry as needed. Assembling orientation and benefits packets, setting up personnel files. Reconciling department expenditures. Writing, proofreading, and formatting email correspondence. Managing food orders and distribution during department events. Maintaining an in-person presence in order to support ad-hoc requests from team members and employees. Calendar management for the Human Resources Manager.

Required Qualifications

Dependable, able to follow instructions, responsive to management direction, and a strong desire and willingness to improve and learn through feedback.
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in both internal and external relationships.
Excellent customer service skills including the ability to interact with a variety of different personalities and communication styles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a follow-up/status update mindset and excellent active listening skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook).
Ability to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information.

Essential Job Functions

Requires mobility and the ability to bend and reach
May infrequently require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

Manual dexterity and coordination are required; repetitive hand motion (e.g., to operate computer keyboard)
Vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus for prolonged periods (i.e., computer screen)
Ability to remain sedentary or stationary for prolonged periods of time
Ability to write for extended periods of time
Ability to work in an office setting for prolonged periods of time
May be asked to carry up to 20 lbs. up and down a flight of stairs on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc.

Occasional reaching overhead and lifting up to 15 pounds
Ability to converse and communicate information with others
Occasional exposure to chemical vapors and/or fumes in low non-hazardous concentration
Potential to climb up and down steps on a daily
Must be able to read and understand SDS
