Application Developer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Application Developer to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications and databases supporting financial and case management systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with technical teams, business users, accountants, auditors, and project management to deliver reliable and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain application programs and system modules.

• Develop and maintain system documentation, installation procedures, and operational guidelines.

• Analyze business and technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.

• Perform system testing, evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting.

• Develop reports, audit trails, logs, and security mechanisms.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain databases and ensure data integrity.

• Write and execute database queries to validate data and system functionality.

• Analyze financial processes, accounting entries, and system workflows.

• Support enhancements related to financial processing, payments, electronic funds transfers, and overpayments.

• Assist technical support teams in resolving application, database, and system issues.

• Maintain application versions across development, testing, and production environments.

• Follow version control and Continuous Integration (CI) practices.

• Use change management and project tracking tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.

• Recommend improvements to business processes, system workflows, and technical solutions.

• Work with project managers, senior developers, support teams, and business users to plan enhancements and implementations.

• Participate in meetings with business stakeholders, auditors, financial teams, and technical staff.

• Provide technical assistance and programming support to other development teams when required.

• Prepare project status and progress updates for management.

• Ensure applications comply with security, accounting, data integrity, and operational standards.

• Take ownership of assigned projects from design and development through testing and implementation.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in application development, system design, and programming.

• Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries.

• Knowledge of financial systems, accounting processes, or payment systems.

• Experience with application testing, system integration, and troubleshooting.

• Understanding of version control and Continuous Integration concepts.

• Experience with ServiceNow and Jira or similar change/project management tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical and business teams.

• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
