Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Controls Engineer in Jackson, GA to design, implement, and support critical control systems that power AWS infrastructure. In this role you will engineer, configure, and optimize BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA systems to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient data center operations. You will analyze operational data, resolve complex system issues, and drive automation improvements at scale. Partnering with cross-functional and global AWS teams, you will support commissioning of new facilities, maintain rigorous documentation, and contribute to continuous innovation in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and maintain data center control and monitoring systems (BMS/EPMS/SCADA) for AWS facilities in Jackson, GAConfigure, test, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and networked control components for high availability and safety
  • Monitor system performance, analyze data trends, and implement improvements to increase reliability and energy efficiency
  • Troubleshoot control system failures and coordinate rapid resolution with facilities, electrical, and mechanical teams
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and as-built drawings for control systems
  • Support commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing of new data center infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with global engineering, operations, and security teams to implement AWS standards and best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to ensure 24/7 uptime of critical environments
