Job Number 2699 Standard Job Description Role Overview In this role you will provide technical leadership and expertise for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) MK7 program. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing the technical solution for the Flight Test and Ground Test programs, ensuring that manufacturing processes and systems meet program requirements.
A key aspect of this position will be leading the effort to ramp up production to meet program delivery schedules, including identifying and mitigating technical risks, and implementing process improvements to achieve rate production. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. This is a rare opportunity to work closely alongside our Navy Strategic Systems Program (SSP) partners to field several future strategic systems that the nation urgently needs.
Basic Qualifications To be considered, candidates must meet all requirements listed:
- Professional experience in a production environment
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Desired Skills Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:
- Demonstrated experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
- Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g. Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace)
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Production (MBP), including the use of digital twins and other model-based technologies to optimize production processes and systems.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
- Experience with aerospace or defense programs, preferably with a focus on missile systems or similar technologies
- Lean Six Sigma Certification or knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques, with experience implementing process improvements
- Experience with vehicle/system level integration and test activities
- Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and dimensional metrology
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. - Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
