Description
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to deliver infrastructure and cloud initiatives for clients in Pennsylvania. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical specialist who can guide projects from discovery through deployment while collaborating with stakeholders across client, vendor, and internal teams. The role focuses on modernizing environments, strengthening security, and producing reliable documentation that supports long-term operational success.
Responsibilities
Direct end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and cloud engagements, ensuring projects are planned, executed, and completed according to scope and timeline expectations. Act as the lead technical contact during implementations, partnering with clients, third-party providers, and internal engineers to keep work aligned and moving forward. Install, upgrade, and transition core technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure services, Windows servers, virtualization platforms, backup systems, and security tools.
Prepare project documentation including statements of work, schedules, implementation approaches, risk considerations, and technical recommendations. Evaluate existing client environments, identify improvement opportunities, and advise on practical solutions that enhance performance, resilience, and security. Carry out initiatives such as Microsoft 365 migrations, Azure deployments, Active Directory modernization efforts, and server consolidation projects.
Configure and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless platforms, VPN connectivity, and software-defined networking solutions. Maintain compliance with security standards and documentation expectations by producing diagrams, procedures, and transition materials for completed work. Contribute to kickoff sessions, progress reviews, and post-deployment discussions to promote clear communication and successful project outcomes.
Support solution scoping and estimation efforts with sales and account teams, and provide escalation assistance for advanced infrastructure issues when needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience. At least 3 years of experience in a Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar technical delivery role. Minimum of 2 years supporting multiple client environments within a managed services setting. Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft 365 administration, tenant migrations, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy. Experience working with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and administration, including switching, routing, firewalls, and VPN connectivity. Background with backup, disaster recovery, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity best practices. Proven ability to manage several projects at once while maintaining strong client communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving performance.
