Job Summary:

The Mirth Connect Interface Developer is responsible for the development, optimization, maintenance, and support of the organization's healthcare integration environment. This role develops and maintains interfaces connecting clinical, financial, operational, and third-party systems, with a strong emphasis on Mirth Connect, JavaScript, HL7, Linux, APIs, and data transformation. The position is hands-on and requires the ability to troubleshoot issues across interface engines, applications, databases, networks, and operating systems. The Mirth Connect Interface Developer works closely with internal technical teams, application owners, vendors, and operational stakeholders to ensure data flows are accurate, reliable, secure, and maintainable. This role requires strong independent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage development and production support responsibilities in a remote healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities:
-Develops, maintains, and improves reliable healthcare interfaces using Mirth Connect and JavaScript. 
-Ensures interface transformations, routing, filtering, and data mapping meet established business and technical requirements. 
-Investigates interface, message, and data-quality issues to ensure information is transmitted accurately and reliably.
-Develops and supports integrations between clinical, financial, operational, and third-party systems using HL7, JSON, XML, REST APIs, SFTP, and other integration technologies. 
-Troubleshoots complex data-flow issues across source systems, Mirth Connect, databases, Linux servers, networks, and destination systems. 
-Works directly with technical teams, vendors, application owners, and operational stakeholders to diagnose issues and implement appropriate solutions.
-Maintains and supports the organization's Mirth Connect and healthcare integration environment, including interface configurations, documentation, monitoring, and ongoing optimization. 
-Supports Linux environments hosting integration services and performs system-level troubleshooting involving services, processes, permissions, logs, networking, certificates, and system resources. 
-Promotes maintainable integration solutions, reusable development practices, appropriate documentation, and reliable production operations.

Day to Day Expectations: 

Work with existing Interface Developer

Work independently (completing migration of Mirth Connect NextGen)

Documenting the Interface as it is being built

Required Skills & Experience:
-Five (5) years of professional experience in healthcare integration, interface development, systems integration, or a related field, including significant hands-on experience developing and supporting Mirth Connect interfaces.

Ideal Candidate:  JavaScript experience, Mirth Connect, Linux Server Administration 

Required Education:
-Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mirth Advance Next Gen Cert is ideal
