Job Description
At Rapiscan Systems, we develop advanced cargo and vehicle inspection solutions that help secure borders, ports, military facilities, and critical infrastructure worldwide. Our innovative X-ray scanning technologies play a vital role in combating terrorism, illegal trafficking, smuggling, and trade fraud.
We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and play a key role in transforming innovative designs into efficient, scalable manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Drive production readiness for new and existing products
- Develop and maintain Work Instructions, SOPs, and Safe Working Practices
- Manage Production BOMs and engineering change processes (ECR/ECN)
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 initiatives
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimisation, and cost reduction
- Provide technical support across Production, Service, Sales, and Customer Support functions
Qualifications:
- Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or similar engineering role
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
- Experience with NPI, Design for Manufacture, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement
- Knowledge of ERP systems (D365 preferred) and production data analysis
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Degree-qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of GD&T, CAD, and PLM systems is advantageous
