Mechanical Day Shift Engineer

Location: Blackfriars, London
Salary: £50,000
Shift: Days Only – Continental Pattern
Position: Permanent, Static Site

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Day Shift Engineer to join an established engineering team at a prestigious commercial building in Blackfriars.

This is a days-only shift position, offering an excellent opportunity for a mechanically qualified engineer looking to work within a high-profile commercial environment without night shifts.

Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance

• Maintain and fault-find on mechanical plant and building services

• Work across HVAC, hot and cold-water systems and associated mechanical equipment

• Respond to breakdowns and plant faults

• Carry out routine plant room inspections

• Monitor building systems and respond to alarms

• Complete maintenance records and update the CAFM system

• Supervise specialist subcontractors when required

• Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with site procedures

• Support the wider engineering team in maintaining a high standard of service

• Mechanically qualified – City & Guilds / NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing or equivalent

• Strong commercial building maintenance experience

• Good knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous

• Professional and confident working within a client-facing environment

• Comfortable working within a busy commercial building

• £50,000 salary
