Senior Network Security/Firewall Engineer with Security Clearance

Insight Global is actively hiring a hybrid remote Firewall Engineer to join our team supporting a newly awarded DoD Program. Candidates can work 80 - 90% Remote, but will be required to come onsite at Fort Meade when working on high side work. THIS IS NOT 100% REMOTE. This candidate will serve as the senior technical authority responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing enterprise-scale network security solutions across a large and highly secure environment.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network security architecture, segmentation, next-generation firewalls, network access control, Zero Trust initiatives, and secure cloud connectivity. This individual will assess current-state security posture, define future-state architecture, and lead implementation teams through complex modernization efforts. The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance architecture, engineering, cybersecurity compliance, and operational execution while driving mission-critical security improvements in a highly regulated DoD environment.

Minimum Job requirements include

• Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
• Security+ Certification or higher
• Bachelors Degree and 12 years of Networking, Network Security, Cyber, or Similar discipline; OR no Degree and 16+ years of experience
• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise network security architectures
• Experience serving as a senior technical lead over network/security engineering teams
• Experience leading security engineering projects from planning through production implementation
• Hands-on experience with: Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), IDS/IPS platforms, VPN and encryption technologies, TLS inspection/proxy technologies, Network Access Control (NAC)
• Strong experience with network segmentation and secure connectivity initiatives
• Deep understanding of: TCP/IP,Routing and switching,VLANs,DNS/DHCP/IPAM,NAT,QoS, Cloud-connected and software-defined networking Exact Pay will vary based on candidate overall experience, depth on knowledge, education level and certifications amongst many other factors. However, we anticipate paying 140K to 187K for this opening as well as providing a comprehensive benefits package including Health, Vision, Dental, and 401K benefits.
