Job Description

RDK-B Triage Engineer

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Job Type: Contract

We are looking for an experienced RDK-B Triage Engineer to support broadband device troubleshooting, production issue resolution, software quality, monitoring, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor metrics and alerting systems to ensure timely and high-quality software releases across diverse devices.
  • Respond to critical field issues, identify root causes, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across RDK-B broadband components, including WiFi/Mesh, DOCSIS, Fiber, LTE, and similar access network technologies.
  • Perform source-code reviews to identify root causes within platform components.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues using Linux systems, networking protocols, and packet capture analysis.
  • Develop and enhance operational tools and DevOps solutions to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Leverage AWS S3, Athena, and QuickSight to analyze data from millions of field devices.
  • Develop anomaly-detection and data-driven solutions to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
  • Perform global metric comparisons across different device models.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve device reliability and production operations.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, and Linux.
  • Experience with RDK-B and broadband technologies such as WiFi/Mesh, DOCSIS, Fiber, LTE, or similar access networks.
  • Strong networking and troubleshooting experience, including packet capture analysis.
  • Experience with Elastic Stack (ELK), Splunk, and Grafana for log analysis, monitoring, and visualization.
  • Strong scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production and field issues.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Jira or other defect-tracking tools.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Amazon Athena.
  • AWS experience, particularly S3, Athena, and QuickSight, is preferred.
  • Experience in a Senior Engineer / Technical Lead role or experience mentoring engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Embedded Linux experience.
  • Broadband gateway/device troubleshooting.
  • RDK-B platform experience.
  • Experience analyzing large-scale device telemetry and logs.
  • Experience with anomaly detection and production monitoring.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
