Job Description

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead systems engineering and integration & test (I&T) for small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). You'll guide a team of engineers from requirements through verification, validation and transition to production, while serving as a primary technical voice to customers.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll own the technical baseline, drive cross-functional execution, and help select components and design approaches based on specifications, reliability and vendor capability.

What You'll Do

Lead the team

•      Manage a team of systems engineering and integration professionals: staffing, workload planning, performance management, mentoring and career development

•      Enforce company processes and engineering discipline while driving practical, executable solutions

Own systems engineering execution

•      Drive the full lifecycle: requirements development and decomposition, system integration, verification, validation and transition to production

•      Manage requirements traceability, allocation, verification planning and technical baseline evolution

•      Produce system-level artifacts, including requirements, interface definitions, technical plans, test plans, procedures, reports and customer presentations

•      Design and evaluate electronic components and circuitry; select parts based on specifications and reliability, and review vendor capability

Own integration & test

•      Plan and run I&T end to end: integration readiness, test planning, procedure development, test conduct, data review, issue resolution and reporting

Coordinate and communicate

•      Align software, hardware, manufacturing, quality, reliability, safety, flight test and program management teams on cost, schedule and technical goals

•      Support airworthiness, system safety and reliability work, including field test safety, hazard coordination and reliability growth / issue closure

•      Report technical progress, risks, issues and mitigation plans to leadership and external customers

•      Serve as a primary customer-facing technical representative in reviews, status meetings and issue resolution

•      Partner with program management on schedule, resource and technical performance planning

•      Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

•      Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or an equivalent mix of education, training and experience

•      8+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 5+ years in design and development

•      Experience leading electrical engineering work across requirements, architecture, schematic design, PCB layout, and PCBA and system test (FPGA experience a plus)

•      Experience owning or leading integration & test for complex aerospace, defense, embedded or mission-critical systems

•      U.S. citizenship

Nice to Have

Background

•      Master's degree in electrical engineering

•      Aerospace, defense or UAS systems engineering experience (strongly preferred)

•      Robotics and UAS electrical architectures

•      Embedded systems development, integration or test

•      Mission systems, payload systems, imaging/sensing systems or related aerospace subsystems

Technical and program experience

•      Altium Designer

•      Writing system test plans, procedures, reports and objective evidence packages

•      Airworthiness, certification or other regulated flight approval processes

•      Reliability activities such as FRACAS, root cause investigation, corrective action tracking or reliability growth

•      Taking products from development or prototype into production

Leadership and communication

•      Clear technical status, risk and progress reporting to internal and external stakeholders

•      Strong written and verbal communication, including concise documentation and professional presentations

•      Leading cross-functional teams to program deadlines

•      Assessing technical risk and opportunity, setting mitigation strategies and driving closure

•      Building trust, influencing decisions and leading through change in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment & Requirements

•      Environment: Climate-controlled office; occasional outdoor exposure while traveling

•      Physical: Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, bend and lift up to 10 lbs; hand and wrist dexterity for computer work

•      Travel: Travel to program sites and special functions, within the continental U.S. and internationally as required
