Job Description

Role Type: Hands on Individual Contributor

Work Model: Remote

Client Environment:  Healthcare

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands on Palantir Foundry Engineer with a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) mindset to independently own and drive one or more Palantir use cases end to end. The expectation is that the engineer will run the show for their assigned use case—covering data ingestion, modeling, application build, and direct engagement with business stakeholders. The broader objective of this role is to build internal Palantir capability and reduce dependency on Palantir’s own FDEs over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own one or more Palantir Foundry use cases end to end (from problem understanding through delivery and rollout)
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, transforms, and workflows in Palantir Foundry
  • Independently develop Foundry use cases, not just support or execute assigned tickets
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to:
  • o clarify requirements
  • o validate outputs
  • o iterate on workflows
  • Collaborate with data owners and engineers to:
  • o understand source systems
  • o identify available datasets (e.g., BigQuery, Netezza, healthcare operational systems)
  • Proactively identify blockers, gaps, or ambiguities and drive resolution without waiting for instructions
  • Take ownership of delivery timelines, quality, and outcomes
  • Gradually reduce reliance on Palantir consultants by building durable in house solutions and patterns

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands on experience with Palantir Foundry

• Experience building pipelines, transforms, workflows, and applications in Foundry

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure) and modern data architectures (data lakes, warehouse, lakehouse).

• Proficient in SQL, Python, and/or Scala for data processing and pipeline development.

• Demonstrated ability to own and deliver a use case end to end

• Strong data engineering fundamentals and comfort owning pipeline logic

• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders (not just technical teams)

• Proven self driven, accountable, and proactive mindset

• Comfortable operating in fast paced, lightly structured environments

• Strong communication skills; willing to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and lead conversations

What This Role Is NOT

This role is not:

• A manager only or architect only role

• A narrow ETL only or backend only role

• A passive developer role waiting for detailed instructions

• A resource who owns only a small technical slice

• A candidate who is overly dependent on Palantir FDEs for direction

Key Mindset Requirement (Non Negotiable)

Candidates must demonstrate a self driven FDE mindset:

• Own problems, not just tasks

• Drive outcomes, not just code

• Engage, ask, lead, and deliver
